When we use petroleum products to fertilize (nitrogen) and then use pesticide (which is why gmo's are being created), we kill the biodiversity of the soil.  Life (seeds) should not be owned by a mega company.

Huge "monoculture" plantings is what encourages pests.  Smaller farms with variety are resistant and controlled with natural means.

Monsanto and Bayer have a history.
